Livefit Day 73 – Chest/Calves Circuit
3 rounds of:
- 20 barbell bench press (45 lbs)
- 20 incline dumbbell press (15 lb dumbbells)
- 20 dumbbell flies (10 lb dumbbells)
- 20 dips
- 20 pushups (on knees)
- 20 standing calf raises (100 lbs)
- 20 horizontal calf press (175 lbs)
- 30-40 minutes cardio, keeping heart rate below maximum.
The weather was absolutely beautiful the morning – so I decided to take a run outside for the cardio portion of the workout.
It ended up being an amazing run – 4.3 miles in 40 minutes. This, my friends, is the furthest I’ve run in months. It’s reminding me why I fell in love with running in the first place; there’s nothing that beats the endorphin rush during a run. Absolutely nothing.
While the run ended up being awesome, I had to take a break about 3/4 of the way through and rush into the mall – for reasons my fellow runners will understand. 😉
Basically, I had to stop, or I may have been re-enacting the scene from Bridesmaids (y’know which one I mean). Except in a sports bra instead of a wedding dress.
Oh, runner problems. Crisis averted though 🙂
An old favourite for breakfast today.
Oh protein pancake, I will never get sick of you. This might actually go down as my favourite breakfast ever – and I love breakfast so that’s saying a lot.
Topped with almond butter and caramelized banana.
Although I made this for Eric for breakfast today, it may end up being my breakfast tomorrow.
Peanut butter and banana sandwich, grilled in coconut oil.
I stole a bite, and yea – heavenly. Eric was definitely raving about it as well!
I spent the later part of the morning/early afternoon running errands – picking up prescriptions, the like. Basically, what Saturdays are for. I stopped at the bank to pay for first semester’s tuition. My wallet still hurts. Why must it cost so much money to be educated?
I also stopped at the farmers market briefly because I needed eggs. If you ever needed more proof that you should shop at farmers markets, here you go:
- large brown free run eggs, purchased from grocery store: $4.50 per dozen.
- large LOCAL brown free run eggs, purchased from farmers market: $3.85 per dozen.
Produced locally and cheaper.
The proof is in the pudding, people. 🙂
Stirfry of sorts for lunch today.
I stirfried some snap peas and bell pepper in coconut oil with onion powder, salt, pepper and chile powder.
Then I chopped up a leftover reduced fat pork sausage and added that to the mix.
I threw it on a serving of quinoa I cooked up alongside and called it lunch. 🙂
We have plans to go out tonight, so for dinner the idea is to demolish some leftovers in the fridge. It’s my friend Mel’s birthday, so I’m looking forward to getting my celebration on tonight!
<– Any embarrassing running stories?
<– Question: directions always say to rinse quinoa before cooking. I rarely do and I don’t notice the difference. Am I the only one? I know it’s supposed to have a bitter coating if it’s not rinsed, but I never notice.
