The Workouts

Because I’m not going to be planning my workouts for the month of April, I figured I could take some time on Sundays to talk about how that’s been going during the week!

So, over Easter weekend I finished up the workout program I was on, and was feeling a little bit burnt out on the gym. So, this last week I did not hit the gym once. And it was lovely.

I walk back and forth to school often, which is 10-15 minutes each way. So, I get some daily movement in during the work week. Other than that…not much! My body has been wanting rest this week, so that is what I’ve been doing.

The weather was really nice towards the end of the week, so I got some extra walking in – including a nice walk around the Grand River.

I also did a little bit of exploring on Tara Stiles’ youtube channel and did a couple of 5-10 minute flows. Thank you Allison for pointing me in that direction – I really like Tara’s approach. And I know I can get through 10-15 minutes pretty easily; it’s the long flows where I get distracted.

So, definitely a quiet week on the workout front. But, it’s been nice. I’m getting a little antsy to get back in the gym, so that will likely happen this week. But we’ll see what sounds good.

Talk to you soon!

  1. Glad that the No-Exercise Plan is off to a great start for you, Sam! It’s amazing what even a few days away from the gym can do both physically and mentally. I took my workout outdoors yesterday with a swim…the weather was far too hot to spend in the gym & pounding away on the treadmill!

  2. It sounds like you have a great week of meals planned out, especially buffalo chicken! I’m still intimidated to buy a whole chicken.

  3. it sounds like you are really finding what works for you and your body, good for you!

  4. Perogies! Oooo if you like them then you definitely need to come visit me sometime – my mom makes ridiculously good perogies. It’s funny because I used to hate them when I was a kid, but my love for them definitely grew as I got older. They’re kind of a pain in the butt to make though, and usually take up an entire afternoon… so the homemade ones don’t come out all that often, but frozen are still pretty darn good in a pinch.

    Happy Sunday!

  5. I cannot wait to see how the squash and perogie soup turns out. It sounds delicious!!

  6. So happy to hear that your unplanned workout week went so well!! I am taking a RESTWEEK next week, so curious how that will feel like. I love that pic of you by the river, very pretty.
And I am totally stucked with Tara Stiles too, love the 10 minutes flows!!

  7. Have you ever checked out Blogilates? If you have, I’d like to know what you think. I like it but I get distracted SO easily with yoga and pilates, so if you have the same problem, I’d like some recommendations. Also, if you and Amanda get together I might have to fly in…my two favorite bloggers same place/same time…I would be starstruck lol:)

  8. That raspberry pomegranate Oikos sounds good! My Loblaws has been out of coconut Oikos for the past 3 weeks. Not impressed! 😛

Also, I adore perogies too – especially with some sauteed onions and sour cream/Greek yogurt. Oh man I’m getting a craving for them now! This week on my meal plan I have tacos, beef soup, and a tofu and rice bowl planned.

  9. I always love reading other Canadian bloggers because I can get the same products as them. I love that the compliment’s egg whites are always cheaper than other brands! Oikos is my favorite Canadian brand of yogurt, it has the most tang compared to other brands!

  10. Aww, I LOVE that picture of you! Your hair looks amazing! Love my strawberry blonde bombshell! 😀

And seriously, omg, PEROGIES!!! I haven’t had those in YEARS!! Sounds weird, but when I was a kid we used to dip them in honey mustard! Lol

Yesterday it was absolutely AMAZING outside so I spent a good amount of my time enjoying it! I even managed a short walk/hobble around the neighborhood around sundown! It was fantastic! I love being outside! I’m SO glad the winter weather is behind us now…it was really taking a toll on me!
