Weekly Workouts

And to sum everything up, I figured I would talk about the workouts that happened last week. It was actually a little difficult for me not to pre-plan workouts…doing it for years made it a hard habit to break! But I think I did a good job at deciding the day of whether or not I wanted to work out, what I wanted to do, and when I could squeeze it in.

So last week (the 7th-13th)

  • Sunday: 3 mile run. First outdoor run of the season!
  • Monday: gym for an upper body workout. I focused on back, biceps and chest.
  • Tuesday: gym for a leg workout.
  • Wednesday: off. I was feeling a little sore and Eric was bottling wine that day, so I was helping him carry bottles up and down the stairs. More than enough for me!
  • Thursday: upper body at the gym. I focused on shoulders and triceps, plus I added some core work. I also did 15 minutes of intervals on the treadmill.
  • Friday: I did about 20 minutes of yoga in the morning (various Tara Stiles youtube videos) and definitely worked up a sweat dancing away at the banquet I attended that night.
  • Saturday: I had a lot of errands to do so I was on my feet all morning. Walking is most certainly a workout!

Enjoy your Sunday and I’ll talk to you soon!

<— Do you have a favourite shampoo/conditioner brand? I’m partial to Marc Anthony…the only one that can give my incredibly limp hair decent volume!

<— Best workout last week? I was excited to get out for a run! Hopefully, the weather will allow for another one sometime this week

  1. Hooray for warmer, sunshiny weather! I’m getting more runs and walks outside too – definitely more enjoyable than the treadmill 🙂 The best workout was my long run last Sunday… After debating whether or not to do it, I felt so accomplished and happy to have gotten myself out the door when it was all done!

  2. Don’t you just love Annie’s mac and cheese? It is fantastic! I love adding veggies to it :).

  3. I spy waffles!!! ❤ And I've seen that argan oil shampoo and conditioner in stores and been kind of tempted to pick it up.. Right now I'm using Lush's solid shampoo in Godiva and their American Cream conditioner, but I'm always up for trying new products, so let me know how you like it! And my best workout last week? Definitely snowboarding through a snow storm 😉

    Happy weekend, love! ❤

    • haha I needed them again. So good!
Ohh, I’ve never bought anything from Lush, but last time I was in there I tried a few samples…might have to go back the next time I’m in London.

      Glad you’re having a good one! ❤

  4. I’m just finishing a bottle of argan/coconut oil shampoo and conditioner and really liked it! My hair felt soft and was less frizzy than usual. I LOVE cheese curds! Whenever I drive home I always stop at this one farm in WI to get some.

  5. way to stick with your plan of just rolling with it. I love that you got an outdoor run in, first one of the season is always the best

  6. Argan oil is THE BEST! I love how shiny and straight it makes my hair 🙂

  7. Can’t remember the last time I had Mac N Cheese with hotdogs! Childhood throw-back!! Need to hop back on that bandwagon ASAP! Thanks for reminding me of it’s splendor!! 😉

  8. Love your recent laid back approach to working out. It really is the best, at least some of the time in between training “plans” or schedules. I have never tried those hair products but my hair is always something that could use some extra lovin.

  9. Your workout week looks great! I did not do any workout I finished the restweek successfully 🙂
I use John Friday shampoos and conditioner, not sure if you get that in Canada/U.S. It is my all time favortie, my hair is so thin but frizzy, so that one is perfect.

  10. I’ve used lots of different shampoos and conditioners in the past. I used to love a seaweed one by bumble and bumble but it wasn’t the cheapest.

Definitely one of the weights workouts I did last week would have been the best.

  11. Ahh banana chips. Seriously the best things ever!

I’ve never really found a favourite shampoo/conditioner brand. I kind of just rotate between Pantene, Loreal, and Tresemme. They’re all okay, but none of them really make my hair super fabulous.

Also? I’m coming over for dinner on Tuesday. I love pork with apples!

  12. Even without pre-planning your workouts as you once did, it looks like you got a great balance of exercise in last week! As much as I love lifting weights and the occasional run, nothing beats incorporating exercise into your daily activities (e.g. walking on errands)! Looking back last week was actually a great workout week for me too. My favorite was my swim on Friday…both in terms of mentally de-stressing and also because I noticed an improvement in my stamina!

  13. Waffles!!!!!! Oh, I’ve never seen the maple cinnamon ones! Oh, and for the record, I KNEW you were planning on making your own poutine after spying those cheese curds! Haha! LOVE it!

Ugh, banana chips! How can you stand those things? I remember you saying they were your favorite in the trail mix you got the other day…I hate how they get all stuck in your teeth and stuff! Ick! Lol
