I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! We’ve been blessed in these parts with some fantastic weather, so I’ve been sure to take advantage.

But of course, popping in with the weekly groceries, the meal plan, and the workouts!

Produce

DSCF5220

  • baby carrots
  • romaine
  • blueberries
  • Gala apples
  • red peppers
  • green beans
  • a red onion that escaped pictures

Proteins/Dairy

DSCF5225

  • shaved roast beef
  • Oikos 2% plain
  • provolone (I needed cheese but was feeling bored of cheddar and mozzarella. I don’t get provolone too often, so I figured it would be a nice change)
  • tuna (woot sale!)
  • butter
  • egg whites
  • pork chops
  • turkey sausage

Grains and Frozen

DSCF5229

  • whole wheat sausage buns
  • whole wheat english muffins
  • frozen meals (boyfriend lunches…I realize that the top one is probably aimed at people half is age, but what can I say…I’m a sucker for cute marketing)
  • brown rice crackers
  • Triscuits

Miscellaneous

DSCF5233

  • Popchips in ranch and nacho cheese (yesssss. I’ve been craving popchips for a while, but holding off until I had an excuse to go to Bulk Barn, because they have the best flavours. I haven’t tried any of their tortilla chip varieties, so I’m excited!)
  • Zevia (hello, 6 for $5 sale)
  • all natural crunchy peanut butter (I am officially on the crunchy peanut butter bandwagon. so good).
  • Digestive enzymes (I’m going to post an update on my digestive issues soon, but I will tell you this: those things have been miraculous)
  • hummus
  • icing sugar (I’ve got some baking to do in the coming week!)

Meal_Plan

  • Saturday: takeout
  • Sunday: pork chops with homemade applesauce, quinoa and green beans
  • Monday: tuna melts, veggies
  • Tuesday: Jessica’s chicken cheesesteaks
  • Wednesday: pizza
  • Thursday: turkey sausages on a bun, salad
  • Friday: chicken breasts, baked fries and salad

The Workouts

And as for what happened with last week’s workouts:

  • Sunday: off
  • Monday: gym for a chest and triceps workouts
  • Tuesday: legs workout
  • Wednesday: shoulders and core
  • Thursday: off
  • Friday: back and biceps + a couple of walks throughout the day
  • Saturday: shopping (absolutely counts as a workout – I was gone and on my feet for about 4 1/2 hours. I actually want to wear a pedometer at some point and see how many miles I get in on a shopping day like that)

Have a great day!

<— Are you drawn in by pretty marketing schemes? The package is shiny?! I’m sold.

<— Best hummus flavour? I was feeling spicy this week, but my two favourites would have to be caramelized onion and sweet potato.

  1. Looks like another great week of meals planned!

  2. I really want to buy Popchips! Where can we get them here? Also I’m all about crunchy nut butters lately too – I’m obsessed with crunchy Barney Butter!

I’m going to have to be boring and say that my favourite hummus flavour is just plain. I’ve never tried a sweet potato one though, so maybe that will change my mind when I try it!

  3. Whaaaaat?!? I’m not seeing breakfast for dinner on your meal plan! I’m disappointed, lady 😛 And those Popchips… Ohhhh love. I liked the nacho cheese ones way better than the ranch, but both were a nice change.

Pretty packaging definitely sucks me in (especially when it comes to beauty products), and I’d have to say that my favorite hummus is just the plain old original kind. You can never go wrong with the classics 😀

    Happy Sunday, love!!

  4. I wish I could try Zevia! And Oikos! And those Popchips! And everything in those pictures!

  5. Sweet Potato Hummus?? Oh my Gosh, why did I never think of this combo? Definitely need to try and remake this at home (we can not even get a good plain one here at the supermarket). I love my sefl-made guac-hummus, I eat it with the spoon right out of the jar, haha 🙂
And yes, sweet packaging gets me everytime. I am even worse when it comes to beauty products .

  6. Looks like a great week of eats and workouts!

  7. I seriously get more exhausted after a day of shopping than a super hard workout! Also…sweet potato hummus sounds amazing but I’ve never had it! I love the Trader Joe’s eggplant hummus because I’m a huge eggplant fan. Also the one my mom always buys is spicy red pepper and it’s delicious.

  8. Packaging always draws me in – especially if its childish in an adult portion!

  9. Caramelized onion hummus?! Where can I get that?!

  10. This all looks delicious! I love red pepper hummus 🙂

  11. Can I come eat with you this week? Chicken cheesesteaks and tuna melts sound pretty darn amazing. Couple both meals with a side of Pop Chips and I’m sold! Speaking of, I love love love the nacho cheese tortilla chips. So happy you found them!

Favorite hummus flavor? I’m going to have to agree with you about sweet potato. However the Thai coconut curry stuff I bought two weeks ago is high on my list as well. As for the most *interesting* flavor…I once tried a Margarita hummus that was mixed with lime and real tequila….I didn’t get a buzz, but it definitely had a kick!

I’m definitely lured in by shiny packaging. The more colors, the better! 🙂

    Hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend, m’dear! ❤ xoxo

  12. I always appreciate good marketing (I am a marketing major, after all!) but it rarely influences my decision about buying something. I started taking digestives enzymes a few months ago and they, along with probiotics, have been life changing!

  13. Oh my gosh, you are gonna DIE when you try the ranch Popchips! Chili Limon’ is my fave, but the ranch is definitely second! And I’m on a bit of a crunchy pb kick myself! I’ve always thought of myself as a creamy kinda gal, but I think I might be coming around! Lol

I am SUCH a sucker for clever/cute marketing…and I always judge a book by it’s cover…like, literally THAT is how I decide on books at the library sometimes! If the picture is pretty, THEN I look at the summary on the back! I’ve actually stumbled across some great reads that way! 😉

Ugh, totally jealous of your sweet potato hummus! I’m always drawn to knew hummus flavors too…even though it’s a CINCH to make at home! Yeah I know…I’m lazy!
